SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

VINCENZO – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

HUNGRY HIPPO – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKNROLL HAMMER NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

SOUTH SEAS ROCK NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

FARFALLA STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample.

HUXTON NZ – Pre-race blood sample. worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 3 – MICHAEL HEHIR’S 80TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION CAROUSEL HEAT 1 – 2300 metres

LEXUS LOU – Stewards questioned Driver Cameron Hart with regards to the performance of the gelding which finished in 3rd placing beaten 7 metres. Mr Hart advised Stewards the gelding over raced as a result of contacting its own sulky wheels. Stewards further questioned Trainer Jason Grimson with regards to the performance of the gelding who advised he was unable to explain the reasons for the gelding contacting its own sulky wheels and over racing given the gelding raced in the same cart affixed in the same position and wearing the same gear that it did at its most recent start. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Hart and Mr Grimson, Stewards determined to note their comments, however advised Mr Grimson that should the horse display similar racing manners in the future further action may be taken.

D J ROCK NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

RACE 4 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED CAROUSEL HEAT 2 – 2300 metres

PALLADIUM NZ – Pre-race blood sample. worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.

BUZZ BOMB – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

JILLIBY FABIO – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND CAROUSEL HEAT 3 – 2300 metres

YA RACIN ARLO – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

MAURLEN BOY – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres.

NYMBAL NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

TOMAHAWK BART – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Seaton Grima was reprimanded under Rule 171(b) for dropping his left foot below the sulky rest when activating approved gear passing the 400 metres.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE SUTTON MCMILLAN FFA (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2300 metres

NYACK – Pre-race blood sample.

CAPTAINS KNOCK – Pre-race blood sample. worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 7 – IRT HORSE TRANSPORT LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

CHARLIES ACE NZ - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the mare has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer Troy Williams was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Chris Geary as the driver of the mare.

CREDULOUS – Driver Joshua Gallagher was cautioned by Stewards with regard to the manner in which he applied the whip to the mare in the home straight.

DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ – Post-race swab sample.

POPS JOY – Pre-race blood sample. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 100 metres.

SHEZ SWEET LOUISE NZ – Trainer Amanda Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of herself as the driver of the mare. Pre-race blood sample. Fractious during the early stages of the score up causing the start to be aborted when needing assistance from the clerk. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

WEONA MISS MIKI – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.

RACE 8 – LIVAMOL TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

SUNNY GEE - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 100 metres.

VALTINO – Contacted its own sulky wheels and raced roughly in the latter stages of the score up and as a result broke stride. After considering the recent record of the horse, it was placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Contacted its own sulky and broke stride passing the 900 metres. After considering the recent record of the horse, a warning was issued.

ALMIGHTY FEAR NZ – Broke stride free of interference passing the 400 metres. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

GANDHI MAIL ITA – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.  

RAKERO BLAZE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 9 – BRAVO FOODS 3YO PACE – 1609 metres

DUTTON – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

PLEASANT HEIGHTS – Stewards questioned Driver John McCarthy with regards to the performance of the gelding which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 8th placing beaten 57 metres. Mr McCarthy advised Stewards the gelding had raced fiercely throughout the event and in his opinion may have choked off. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the gelding, noting the explanation of Mr McCarthy, a warning was issued.

EYE CAN EAR AMOUR – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Josh Gallagher as the driver of the gelding.

LOCHINVAR MARCELLO – Hung in after the start. Hung in under pressure from the 200 metres until passing the 100 metres. After considering the recent record of the colt, a warning was issued.

BETWEEN DECKS - Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Jim Douglass as the driver of the gelding.
